Apparently this isn't true.

See blog title.

I'm not a writer. I need some incredibly large amount of energy to write.

What have you to do with us?

So, you can just be reading your scriptures when you read something that you've read perhaps dozens of times when suddenly something says, "By the way, that's you!"

Well, that happened to me today. It hit me strongly enough that I had to finally start the blog I was thinking about writing.

Late in Luke 4 a man in the synagogue with an unclean spirit sees Jesus and yells out, "Let us alone! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God."

Promptly Jesus responds, "Be silent, and come out of him!"

The narrative goes on, "When the demon had thrown him down before them, he came out of him without having done him any harm."

In concordance with what the previously divulged spoiler says, the Spirit of God reached down into my heart and said, "By the way, that's you!"

This stirred up some interesting thoughts. How often do we find ourselves in our place of worship (whether formal or personal) and cry out (probably metaphorically), "What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?" Don't you find yourself sometimes feeling like He's come to destroy you? But you know who He is, right? The Holy One of God? You get so frustrated with trying to mend your soul that you wish He would let you alone. You do not even know how to give Him your soul or your will. Go away, everything! Leave me alone.

Now, you must know that if you find yourself in this state more often than never, you could use some help. So, be silent. That voice inside is not you. Get it out of you. Thankfully the narrative makes it clear that the Savior can clear out demons of this sort.

What does He have to do with us? He certainly does not want us to suffer silently or to have us feel like He's the bad guy. Remember, the bad person is in you, but it is not you.

Interestingly enough, both you and the bad person that sometimes lives inside of you know the same truth. Jesus of Nazareth is the Holy one of God.

I guess the main issue is learning to be a better landlord for your heart.

I am not going to pretend to be a good writer and have some great way of tying this all together into some succinct and beautiful way of fixing your life. I just want you to know that your struggle is real, but you don't have to go at it alone. Christ will be there.
